Lightfish are minuscule jellyfish-like organic creatures native to the Aqua Magna region of Spherus Magna.
History
During the Great Cataclysm, water from Aqua Magna spilled into the Matoran Universe through the aperture created by the ascent of Voya Nui, carrying a number of Lightfish with it. Lightfish were first described by the Rahaga in the compendium of Rahi that they were compiling during the Great Rescue.
The Ga-Matoran of Ga-Koro discovered Lightfish during the Matoran occupation of Mata Nui. Because of their bright, constant glow, they were used as an alternative to Lightstones. Lightfish were placed in glass containers and used to illuminate huts.
Abilities and Traits
Lightfish are bioluminescent, releasing a constant glow for their entire lifetimes. However, they cease to glow when they die.
