Our Guarantee
Follow this policy -- and all other extended policies -- to make the Wiki a safer and faster place to visit.
1) Storyline Reference ONLY. The content being added recently has included an overly-large amount of "Set" significance, but not a Storyline one.
An example of a good article would be:
Tahu Nuva is the Toa Nuva of Fire of Ta-Koro.
A bad example is this:
Tahu Nuva was released in 2002 with so-and-so amount of pieces and sold in so-and-so countries
We're Storyline reference. Leave set reference to BZPower's Set Database
Please note that Set Reference is not OK if it's the only thing in an article. Storyline Reference needs to be in an article to make it legal. Anything else, provided it's official content and/or released by LEGO or used by LEGO, is fair game.
2) Appropriate Content Only. This is a reference site for a children's toy, as such, it should contain only content that is appropriate for all ages. If you see any inappropriate content, please remove it from any page(s) and immediately notify a staff member.
3) No Unapproved Websites. What we mean by this is simple. We don't want to see a specific website have a page, unless approved by us. The exception to this is if LEGO.com releases a newer BIONICLE page, then no permission is required. The rule only applies to larger websites. Note, there will be NO forums linked to on here, none whatsoever. The only exceptions are BZPower's and LEGO's forums.
4) Keep it Professional. It's getting to the point where a page is basically two lines of text. Honestly, if there are only two lines of text on a page, obviously we have to either edit that page or work hard on finding info on this character/item/location/whatever. If none is present, chances are it doesn't deserve it's own page, and can fit nicely in a larger one.
5) No Non-BIONICLE Chit-Chats. It has came to the staff's attention that non-BIONICLE related chats are appearing on this Wiki, which are strictly unacceptable. If a user starts any of these chats with the total amount of more than 3 sentences, they will be considered a vandal and will be blocked. If you want to chat, do so on PM, AIM and other communication systems.
- If you would like to start a chat based on BIONICLE, please do so at the Community Portal.
- An even better idea is to just do it on BZP in a forum or best in PM's, since that is what that site is there for anyway.
6) No Direct Linking from anywhere. For pictures, please upload them and give appropriate credit. Please don't steal pictures from somewhere and just use the picture's URL. If you do so then you will be blocked. For non-BIONICLE pictures, use Photobucket.com and/or Majhost.com
7) No direct information from Wikipedia. We are an original content Wiki, and copying from elsewhere will not be tolerated. And Wikipedia is typically wrong anyway, so is not a valid source.
8) Only link banners on your page to a site if it is an affiliate of BS01. Therefore, do NOT link a banner to Pokémon or stuff like that.
9) No separate pages for userboxes. Please do not create pages for every single one of your userboxes. They take up space and are quite unnecessary.
10) Use Quick-speaks (talkpages) effectively. Talkpages on the BS01 Wiki are there for specific reasons. Some of those include asking about something you doubt the accuracy of; wondering how to make the page better; coding styles; questioning of storyline information IF and only IF it is for the benefit of the page.
Many people are misusing talkpages by usually: asking hypothetical questions that are better left unsaid; asking storyline questions about the respective article only on the basis of wanting to know; trying to set up a discussion about something related to the article. This is NOT a BIONICLE forum site, so please don't make talkpages a 'topic.' Use BZPower for these misuses of talkpages, if applicable.
11) Use appropriate quotes on userpages. Although not a problem right now, it's becoming one. If you are going to have a quote on your userpage, keep it appropriate. Quotes should not contain stuff like leet, profanity, and other things common sense says is bad.
12) Try not to make your signature longer than five lines of code. - That way, it helps to sooth our server load, while also stopping signatures from cluttering up talkpages.
13) No "Extracurricular" add ons. This includes personal journals or epics. The only exception is small descriptions of personal characters on your own user page. The only official journal available is the KanohiJournal. Nobody is excepted from this rule.
14) State References on Quotes. Please include the source of a quote when you post one. For example: {{quote|Blah.|Vezok, [[BL1]]}} This rule is being enacted because recently many quotes have appeared around the site which the staff cannot immediately verify for accuracy, and thusly have had to remove.
15) No speculation. The BS01 Wiki only accepts officially confirmed storyline and set facts. Speculation of any kind is not permitted, because it is unreliable and often incorrect. So please, keep your theories to yourself.
16) Keep Welcome templates reasonable. Any custom welcome template(s) created must be completely BS01-related, around the same overall dimensions as the original, and not be overly bright or distracting to those viewing it.
17) Do not make clubs within BS01. As of late, members have been forming little clubs of sorts for people who like the Phantoka, support the classic BS01 skin, etc. These groups will no longer be allowed on the site, since they not only promote spam, but distract members from constructive activity on the Wiki. In addition, the purpose of these clubs itself is technically not positive, since it has nothing to do with helping BS01. So if you like something and would like to let everyone know, do so quietly, using means other than making clubs.
18) Other BIONICLE Wikis are not to be mentioned. The name of other BIONICLE wikis are no longer allowed on BS01 Wiki. If you mention the name on this wiki, then you will be warned. After the warning, if you continue to defy this rule, then we will ban you for a number of days, depending on the staff member who bans you.
Following these Policies will keep BS01 Wiki clean and speedy. If you have any concerns about these rules, or wish for one to be explained more in depth, ask the staff here.
