Vandalism is when an editor with malicious intents come to the wiki and intentionally destroy and remove content in vast numbers, along with using vulgar language along the way. These editors are given the nickname "Vandal", and contains formerly expelled members which believe they should not have been, or members who simply want to have some fun and thus intentionally destroy content. On rare cases, the vandals could be the act of staff members, who "vandalise" the site to test the reactions of the general public. | |

The best way to fight vandalism is to alert others to help you. In order to do this, you must make good use of the Wikicon. The WikiCon is a wiki-wide vandalism alert system which is split into 6 levels: Alert, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. 1 means no vadalism, 2 means minor vandalism, and 5 means extreme vandalism. For more details of how to use the wikicon, see here. After that, you should help with reverting edits made by the vandals. To do this, simply go through the normal undo routines. ("Archives" tab, click on edit before first vandal edit, "edit" tab, "save page" button.) Depending on whether a staff member is online and able to help, a vandalism attack may last only a few seconds to few hours. Which means you should try your best to revert the vandal edits until a staff comes. If you're unable to continue due to time problems, ask another online member to help you. |
